Samira Vera-Cruz – młoda filmowczyni i producentka z Wysp Zielonego Przylądka. Ukończyła studia filmowe i komunikację na Uniwesytecie Amerykańskim w Paryżu. Debiutowała krótkim metrażem “Buska Santu”, a później filmem pełnometrażowym “Sukuru”.

DESCRIPTION:
Samira Vera-Cruz’s documentary shows the practice that takes place on the island of Santiago in Cabo Verde, where many women earn their living by illegally collecting sand from beaches and wharves. The main character, who has always been connected to the sea, realises that she is destroying the environment with her actions. This makes her situation seem all the more hopeless.
DIRECTOR’S BIOGRAPHY:
Samira Vera-Cruz – a young filmmaker and producer from Cape Verde. She holds a degree in film and communications from the American University in Paris. She debuted with the short film 'Buska Santu’ and later with the feature film 'Sukuru’.
