„Sankara” to portret prezydenta Burkina Faso – Thomasa Sankary, widziany oczami młodego rapera. Film zabiera w podróż w czasie i przybliża nowatorską i odważną, zwłaszcza jak na lata 80, ideologię Sankary. Tym samym dokument podejmuje próbę odpowiedzi na pytanie, dlaczego Sankara nadal inspiruje młodych Burkińczyków w kraju i za granicą, mimo że minęło 35 lat od jego śmierci.
„Sankara” is a portrait of Burkina Faso’s President Thomas Sankara, seen through the eyes of a young rapper. The film takes you on a journey through time and introduces you to Sankara’s innovative and bold ideology, especially for the 1980s. Thus, the documentary attempts to answer the question of why Sankara continues to inspire young Burkinabes at home and abroad, even though 35 years have passed since his death.

Yohan Malka is a French filmmaker and freelance journalist who has worked for years for TV stations such as France 5, Arte and Canal+. As a reporter, he has visited South Africa, Zimbabwe, the USA, Brazil, Argentina and Hungary, among others. The film 'Sankara’ is his first documentary.
