Nad wodą / Above Water

Zmiany klimatu spowodowały, że w regionie Azawak w Nigrze życie staje się coraz trudniejsze. Jedyną dostępną wodą jest ta w studniach oddalonych od wiosek o wiele kilometrów, a i w nich zaczyna jej brakować. Aby przeżyć, mieszkańcy Tatiste zmuszeni są szukać jej daleko od domu i emigrować do innych krajów, narażając się na niebezpieczeństwa, napady i gwałty. Najbardziej narażone są jednak kobiety, bo to one  w poszukiwaniu pracy wyruszają samotnie w długie wędrówki, i dziewczynki, które zostają same w wiosce, aby opiekować się rodzeństwem. Jedynym ratunkiem dla mieszkańców Tatiste jest odwiert studni głębinowej, o który walczą z całych sił. To obowiązkowy dokument, który powinien zobaczyć każdy z nas.

Climate change has made life increasingly difficult in the Azawak region of Niger. The only water available is in wells many kilometres away from the villages, and even these are becoming scarce. In order to survive, Tatiste people are forced to look for water far from home and emigrate to other countries, exposing themselves to dangers, assaults and rapes. The most vulnerable, however, are the women, who in search of work set off alone on long journeys, and the girls, who stay alone in the village to look after their siblings. The only salvation for the people of Tatiste is the drilling of a deep well, for which they fight with all their might. This is a must-see documentary for all of us.
