It is expressed by a young woman who carries a wooden cross on her back through the dusty streets of Lesotho, astonishing the people around her. This highly emotional and ambiguous picture draws on the personal experiences of the director, who left his country and moved to Germany. The film was nominated for awards at a number of festivals around the world in 2019.

His documentary “Mother, I Am Suffocating. This Is My Last Film About You” was selected for the 2018 Final Cut workshop at the Venice IFF, where it won six awards.
