O FILMIE: “Neptune Frost” to zupełnie wyjątkowe połączenie musicalu i filmu s-fi, stworzonego przez duet reżyserski Saul Williams i Anisia Uzeyman w nurcie afrofuturyzmu. Z jednej strony, to opowieść o miłosnej relacji pomiędzy interpłciowym hakerem o imieniu Neptune i Matalusą, górnikiem z kopalni koltanu w bliżej niezidentyfikowanej czasowo miejscowości w Rwandzie, których więź prowadzi do zasiania ziarna rewolucji. Z drugiej strony, to bardzo mocny protest przeciwko neokolonializmowi i kapitalizmowi w różnych jego odsłonach. Wyjątkowości dodają tutaj zjawiskowe, dopracowane w każdym szczególe kostiumy i scenografia, a także skomponowana przez Saula Williamsa, łącząca wiele różnych gatunków muzyka, która wraz z aktorami pełni rolę komentatora rozgrywających się wydarzeń.

ABOUT MOVIE: „Neptune Frost” is a completely unique combination of a musical and a sci-fi film, created by the afrofuturist director duo Saul Williams and Anisia Uzeyman. On the one hand, it is the story of a love affair between an intersexual hacker named Neptune and Matalusa, a miner at a coltan mine in an unidentified location in Rwanda, whose bond leads to the seeds of revolution being sown. On the other hand, it is a very strong protest against neo-colonialism and capitalism in its various forms. What makes the film unique are the phenomenal, well-detailed costumes and set design, as well as the music composed by Saul Williams, which combines many different genres and, together with the actors, plays the role of a commentator of the unfolding events.
