This is the story of the prayerful Adam, who gets to study theology at a prestigious university in Cairo. Coming from the provinces, the boy finds himself in the middle of the games between theologians and state warlords. 'Boy From Heaven’ is reminiscent of 'Red and Black’. Like Stendhal’s protagonist, Adam too must decide whether to side with the authorities or with religion. The battle between Satan and the devil for his soul has a great pace and fits the film into the framework of an espionage thriller. And the stripping of the protagonist’s innocence, pushing him to cross more boundaries, gives it just the right amount of bitterness. The screening will satisfy both fans of genre and socially engaged cinema.

Tarik Saleh – szwedzki reżyser, pisarz i animator, który rozpoczynał swoją karierę jako artysta graffiti, a następnie reżyser magazynu dokumentalnego “Alive in Cairo” (1995). W 2001 r. współreżyserował z Erikiem Gandini film “Who betrayed Che Guevara?”. W 2017 r. odpowiadał za reżyserię filmu “The Nile Hilton Inciden”, który przyniósł mu międzynarodowe uznanie.
Tarik Saleh is a Swedish director, writer and animator who began his career as a graffiti artist and then director of the documentary magazine 'Alive in Cairo’ (1995). In 2001, he co-directed the film „Who betrayed Che Guevara?” with Erik Gandini. In 2017, he was responsible for directing the film 'The Nile Hilton Incident’, which brought him international recognition.
