Gdy rodzice Nafisy postanawiają wybrać męża swej córce, budzi to opór Al-Sit, najstarszej z rodu, która nie akceptuje Nadira, młodego biznesmena mieszkającego w Dubaju. Czy Nafisa zdoła przeciwstawić się rodzicom i babci i sama zadecyduje o swoim życiu, przyszłości i o tym, kogo chce poślubić?
SUZANNAH MIRGHANI – niezależna filmowczyni, reżyserka, pisarka i producentka o sudańsko-rosyjskim pochodzeniu. Ukończyła studia z zakresu mediów i studia muzealne. Sandra Nankoma, aktywistka i wokalistka i inne czarne kobiety opowiadają o braku akceptacji i prześladowaniach, jakich doznawały z powodu koloru skóry. Opisują też dramaty wielu kobiet, które decydują się na rozjaśnianie karnacji. Nankoma poprzez swoją działalność stara się wspierać, dodawać siły i pewności czarnym kobietom, ale też propagować ideę równości w mediach, w codzienności i w życiu publicznym.
HAKIM ZZIWA – artysta performer z Ugandy, mieszkający w Bostonie. Od zawsze zainteresowany opowiadaniem historii, które wizualnie inspirowane są jego doświadczeniami jako tancerza, co doprowadziło go do realizacji wielu teledysków i filmów krótkometrażowych. Twórca krótkich metraży: “Kisenge”, “Mukigaali”, “Yala”, “Asension”, “Meet Mandira” i “The Dark One”.

“DORLIS”
Gdy ojciec Laure zostaje sparaliżowany po udarze, zabiera ona swoje córki, Norę i Melissę, i przeprowadza się do jego domu na północy Martyniki, aby pomóc mu w codziennym życiu. Z czasem w nastoletniej Norze odżywają straszne wspomnienia z dzieciństwa związane z dziadkiem, przed którym chce ochronić swoją młodszą siostrę.
ENRICKA MH – scenarzystka i reżyserka z Martyniki. W 2019 r. stworzyła swój pierwszy krótki metraż “La K-Z”, który otrzymał kilka nagród na festiwalach filmowych. “Dorlis” to jej drugi film, którego scenariusz napisała w trakcie programu rezydencjalnego “La Ruche de Gindou” we Francji.

Khadiga jest młodą matką, która sama wychowuje malutką córeczkę. Morad Mustafa pokazuje niezwykle przejmujący i dramatyczny obraz kobiety, która podejmuje decyzję, aby uśmiercić swoje dziecko.
MORAD MOSTAFA – egipski filmowiec urodzony w Kairze. Współpracował z takimi twórcami jak Mohamed Diab, Sherif Elbenary i Hala Khalil. Autor nagradzanych krótkich metraży “Przyjęcie henny” (nagroda jury społecznego na AfryKamerze w 2020 r.) i “What we don’t know about Mariam”.

Krótka animacja przedstawia młodą czarną kobietę, która idzie popływać w morzu u wybrzeży Islandii. Opowiada ona o swym doświadczeniu dorastania w obcym kraju oraz trudnej ciąży i depresji po urodzeniu dziecka.
FAN SISSOKO – francusko-malijska artystka i filmowczyni mieszkająca w Reykjaviku. Wykorzystuje film i opowieść audio, aby pokazać intymne historie, które mogą zainspirować zmianę społeczną. Jej ostatni project “On the Surface” otrzymał grant z organizacji “Art With Impact”, która wykorzystuje filmy krótkometrażowe, aby prowadzić wśród młodych ludzi dialog o zdrowiu psychicznym.

SAMEH ALAA – egipski reżyser, studiował literaturę niemiecką na uniwersytecie w Kairze, ukończył również studia filmowe w Paryżu. Jego pierwszy krótki metraż “Fifteen” otrzymał wiele nagród filmowych. “Obym nie zapomniał twej twarzy” to pierwszy od 50 lat egipski film, który został zakwalifikowany do głównej selekcji na festiwalu filmowym w Cannes w 2020 r.

„SZOPKA”
Tebogo Chologi stworzył film, w którym rolę narratora pełni mała chatka, szopa, będąca dla wielu mieszkańców RPA jedynym schronieniem i domem. Narrator prowadzi nas do chaty ubogiego ochroniarza o imieniu Buti, który mimo pracy w szkole zmuszony jest do korzystania z paczek żywnościowych, a brak prądu i telewizora uniemożliwia mu śledzenie sytuacji związanej z pandemią koronawirusa.
TEBOGO CHOLOGI – młody, obiecujący artysta z RPA, twórca filmów krótkometrażowych i aktor. Otrzymał dyplom z produkcji filmowo-telewizyjnej, w ramach którego napisał, wyreżyserował i wyprodukował dwa filmy “Inmate” i “Mobocracy”. W 2021 r. powstały kolejne filmy: “Caged”, “Maletsatsi” i “A Plight of an Ordinary Man”.

„AL-SIT”
In a small village in Sudan, where they still pick cotton with their own hands, they live according to the traditions of their ancestors. When Nafisa’s parents decide to choose a husband for their daughter, she is opposed by Al-Sit, the eldest of the family, who does not accept Nadir, a young businessman living in Dubai. Will Nafisa be able to stand up to her parents and grandmother and decide for herself about her life, her future and who she wants to marry?
SUZANNAH MIRGHANI is an independent filmmaker, director, writer and producer of Sudanese-Russian descent. She holds degrees in media studies and museum studies. Her latest film is the experimental satire 'Virtual Voice’ which premiered at this year’s Tribeca FF. She is currently working on her feature debut 'Cotton Queen’.

„THE DARK ONE”
Sandra Nankoma, an activist and singer, and other black women talk about the lack of acceptance and persecution they suffered because of their skin color. They also describe the dramas of many women who choose to lighten their complexion. Through her activity, Nankoma tries to support, give strength and confidence to black women, but also to promote the idea of equality in the media, in everyday life and in public life.
HAKIM ZZIWA is a performance artist from Uganda who lives in Boston. He has always been interested in telling stories that are visually inspired by his experiences as a dancer, which has led him to make many music videos and short films. Creator of short films: „Kisenge”, „Mukigaali”, „Yala”, „Asension”, „Meet Mandira” and „The Dark One”.

When Laure’s father becomes paralyzed after a stroke, she takes her daughters, Nora and Melissa, and moves to his house in the north of Martinique to help him with everyday life. As time passes, the teenage Nora’s terrible childhood memories resurface of her grandfather, from whom she wants to protect her younger sister.
ENRICKA MH is a writer and director from Martinique. In 2019 she created her first short film „La K-Z”, which received several awards at film festivals. „Dorlis” is her second film, whose script she wrote during the residency program „La Ruche de Gindou” in France.

The short animation shows a young black woman going for a swim in the sea off the coast of Iceland. She talks about her experience growing up in a foreign country and her difficult pregnancy and depression after giving birth.
FAN SISSOKO is a French-Malian artist and filmmaker living in Reykjavik. She uses film and audio storytelling to show intimate stories that can inspire social change. Her latest project „On the Surface” received a grant from „Art With Impact”, an organization that uses short films to create dialogue among young people about mental health.

SAMEH ALAA is an Egyptian director who studied German literature at Cairo University and completed his film studies in Paris. His first short film „Fifteen” received many film awards. „I am afraid to forget your face” is the first Egyptian film in 50 years to be selected for the main selection at the 2020 Cannes Film Festival.

„THE SHACK”
Tebogo Chologi has created a film in which the role of narrator is played by a small hut, a shack, which is the only shelter and home for many South Africans. The narrator leads us to the hut of a poor security guard named Buti who, despite working at a school, is forced to rely on food parcels, and the lack of electricity and a television prevents him from following the situation of the coronavirus pandemic.
TEBOGO CHOLOGI is a promising young South African artist, short film maker and actor. He received a diploma in Film and Television Production where he wrote, directed and produced two films „Inmate” and „Mobocracy”. The following films were produced in 2021: „Caged”, „Maletsatsi” and „A Plight of an Ordinary Man”.
