Carol Rodrigues is a Brazilian director and screenwriter whose work explores issues of racial, gender, and class identity. She graduated with a degree in Audiovisual Studies from the University of São Paulo (USP) and in Social Sciences from the University of Campinas (Unicamp).
Her debut feature film, Sistermaids (2023), won the Best Screenplay Award at the Cabíria Festival 2023 and four awards at BrLab 2017. Previously, Rodrigues made acclaimed short films such as “A Boneca e o Silêncio” (2015) and “A Felicidade Delas” (2019), which were screened at international film festivals and won numerous awards.
As a screenwriter, Rodrigues has collaborated on productions such as “Brainiacs” (Gloob), “3%” (Netflix), and “Joint Venture.” In 2020, she was nominated for the Screenwriter of the Year Award by ABRA (Associação Brasileira de Roteiristas).
