Brittany Shyne is an American filmmaker and documentary filmmaker from Dayton, Ohio.
Her work encompasses both narrative and documentary projects, focusing on exploring everyday life and issues such as personal history, alienation, culture, race, class, and belonging. She graduated with a degree in film from the Motion Picture program at Wright State University, Dayton. She then earned an MFA in Documentary Media from Northwestern University. Early in her career, she collaborated on the Oscar-winning documentary American Factory. Her feature-length directorial debut, the documentary Seeds (2025), won the U.S. Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival. The film is distinguished by its black-and-white cinematography and deeply reflective, poetic style.
